East Meets West: A Pre-Raphaelite Hanfu Collaboration with dressedupdreams
About the Shoot
Recently, I collaborated with a Hanfu Photographer, @Dressedupdreams, along with a few talented individuals to come up with the concept of a East meets West influence. We did the shoot at a studio I have often collaborated with, Blankbox by Onstaging. They were kind enough to not only provide the space, but also to use special props that they have available for us.
On this particular shoot, I worked as the producer. Sometimes, its good to be able to step away from the camera, and to try a different role, and this time, its as a producer. Coordinating wasn’t easy, but I’m glad we’ve managed to accomplish the look we wanted to try at the start.
@dedroflowers used bitter gourds for the first look with hanging flowers, which was something quite unique as a scenic prop. It helped to spice up (or in this case bitter up) the look of the shoot!
We also tried to do another look with a shallow pool that @Onstaging has, fortunately or unfortunately, we managed to squeeze one shoot from it. But it was a good attempt for all of us to learn!
Below are some of the selected photographs from the shoot! Do have a look at them!
